we also woke to the sound of a fire alarm like 7.30 in the morning.....SOME people (not mentioning any names but you know who you are!!) thought that i set it off!
i also turned 23 this month.....i just feel the same to be honest!
went to Bradford the other day with JK......got me lost....and took me to all these dead end routes! but despite all of that managed to get there with 30min to spare. decided to go eat a this take out....it was absolutely disgusting!!!! the mayo tasted like fat and the chicken was saturated in oil...chips were ok but because the mayo was all over it, felt absolutely sick!!!
been at a management training over the last 2 days- really nice hotel and spa plae, was very posh. glad i went- managed to network with a few people and insha Allah going to set up a few meetings so we can work together on something
it'll be interesting to see who gets in government next week- i pray whoever it is insha Allah and help get the UK back on its feet. also with Local Counicl and not cut back on funding and services more than they already have! the saying is true- people don't realise or appreciate what they hace until its gone....i'm sure there was a song about that!
Alhamdulilah other good news...... we have the first Muslim Vice President of NUS- Allahu Akbar! i'm really proud of his achievement and i pray that Allah makes it easy for him and his family. Ameen
there was the whole issue of the volcano in Iceland that erupted- Subhan Allah i still can't believe that the whole of Britain and Europe grounded to a halt and couldn't fly in or out for about a week or so.
this reminded me how- one of the signs of Yawm ul Qiyyama is that there's going to be 3 great big fires across the world. one in the east, one in the west and the other Yemen- and how everyone will be able to see them. i always wondered how is that possible? how can we see a fir that's like thousands of miles away....? and the volcanic eruption that happened a few weeks ago just showed and proved to me- that it is possible and CAN happen and shows the awesome Power and Might of Allah (SWT) Allahu Akbar!
i'll just quickly summarise what i learnt and took from each talk at the Conference:
JIMAS 1: People are losing the taste for Tawheed and Aqeedah but we are excelling in doing Da'wah for Islam. We think we're doing well but we're leaving knowledge.
JIMAS 2: Conviction of correct belief is the foundation and driving force to lead you to do righteous deeds. Need all 3: Emaan = Utterance x Action x Conviction
JIMAS 3: Our problem is not lack of knowledge but with our reception of it. Our heart is veiled with sins, thus not allowing the light to penetrate through.
JIMAS 4: We should have respect for Allah's creation as everything was created for a purpose e.g. Surah Mulk, Verse 67. We owe rights to Allah and His creations.
JIMAS 5: Never despair Allah's mercy when you commit a sin even if you hate yourself for it. Lose the sin, never justify it or undermine it. Follow bad with good deeds.
JIMAS 6: When you ask, ask of Allah. Allah should be the focus and centre of all our activities. Like doing Tawaaf around the Ka'bah, we should rotate our lives around Him.
JIMAS 7: Do and learn something better than the previous day. Islamic knowledge teaches us the shortcuts to Paradise. You can only do something with help from Allah.
JIMAS 8: Maintaining the dignity is when every individual realises his potential. If we are the right person for the job we hsould take it and not have false humbleness.
JIMAS 9: To render justice is the most npblest of actions next to worshipping Allah (SWT). Your love and hatred for someone should not cause you to be unjust.
JIMAS 10: Islam harmonises everything as a whole, through spirituality and worldly matters. Prophet (SAW) conquered Makkah- what the sword and war couldn't accomplish, love did.
JIMAS 11: Four things we need to know:
- you are never too young
- be busy
- discover your talents and be true to yourself
- be ambitous and set the bar high
JIMAS 12: The heart is the king of the organs in the body. Therefore the King of all Kings wants our hearts, and to be in full love and rememberance of Him (SWT)
JIMAS 13: Whilst being steadfast we should have sound faith and not even have a grain of Shirk present. Increase and keep the positive energy to increase our Imaan.
JIMAS 14: Obligation to Da'wah: All Prophets (AS) were ordered to spread the message, and after the Prophet (SAW) left, it is up to us to take this message forward.
JIMAS 15: No matter what good work we are doing, we should ask Allah (SWT) to accept it from us and make Du'a to Him. Ibrahim (AS) made Du'a to Allah, to accept his Du'as.
JIMAS 16: Tazkiyah should be done to cleanse your soul. Believer's life is full of light. Allah (SWT) has given us all these faculties, so what have you done for the Deen.

on a seperate note- i've got my Tajweed Exam tomorrow so please make Du'a i pass it!!!
also organised a hustings with MP's from Oldham West and Royton- really important we get people to vote because we've got BNP candidate running and we don't want them getting any seats. so please mak Du'a that goes well.
finally i ask Allah (SWT) to accept all the efforts of everyone who is doing something for the Deen- whether through an Islamic organisation or befriending some or at work.
and for those in education and final year at Uni.....we've all been through it.....just put up with those late nights and stresses for a few more weeks until it's over and done with :D
may everything we do weigh heavily on the scale of good deeds in the Akhira. Ameen
